What is Emergency Q?
Emergency Q has been set up so that patients presenting at Middlemore Hospital Emergency Department (ED) with less serious and urgent problems, can be issued a voucher with a unique 5 digit code (phone or hard copy voucher) to come to Counties Medical Urgent Care Takanini or Papakura for treatment.
Do I have to pay if I get a voucher and come to Counties Medical Urgent Care?
If the voucher is issued by Middlemore hospital or Hato Hone St John, you do not pay anything for being treated by us instead of Middlemore. It will not effect your wait time with us, as this is still dependant on the urgency of the patients on the day. It does not mean you are seen when you arrive.
What else do I need to know?
The voucher is only valid for 2 hours once issued at Middlemore. You must present at the clinic within 2 hours of it being issued.
You don’t have to pay for your treatment at our Urgent Care but you must have been issued with the voucher with its unique 5 digit code from Middlemore. This only applies to Counties Medical Urgent Care not to Counties Medical Family Health.
What is on the Emergency Q app?
The app provides a live view of forecast wait plus treatment times for non-emergency patients at specific hospital Emergency Departments and urgent care clinics around New Zealand. This includes Counties Medical Urgent Care Takanini and Papakura.
